Peter Whitney

Manchester-born Peter Whitney has worked in and around the design for print business since the early 80s. With an original background in paper sales, Peter was asked to join a major London printer he supplied, Rivington Press, where he was appointed Sales Director. During his time with Rivington, Peter built strong relationships with numerous blue-chip businesses, including BAA, RBS, British Gas, Esso, Glaxo Smith Kline, Thames Water, Evans Medical and Saatchi and Saatchi. Working as an interface between design and production, Peter was closely involved with these major clients, their designers or agencies and the printers. Building on his relationship with the Royal Bank of Scotland, he also formed “The Paper Factory”, a groundbreaking business commissioning and supplying some of the UK’s first large volume quality recycled paper which was marketed under contract to RBS and a number of other environmentally responsible businesses.

The mid-90s saw Peter look to a different lifestyle and a move with Dave Carne to the Lake District. The relocation saw him join leading North West printer Philip Myers Press. As a leading print and direct mail salesman within the business, Peter added Tesco Personal Finance, for which he delivered their launch material, and top direct mail agency WWAV Rapp Collins to their client list, as well as his longstanding major client RBS.
